Thinking more about Tana, I remembered how one time when I was in San Francisco for a conference, she drove in to meet me. We had lunch at Boulette's Larder in the Ferry Building, and she drove me around, showing me fancy houses. We talked about mutual eG acquaintances--some positively, some not :P-- and many other kinds of things, including her family background.  She was a strong person.

Suzanne, I recall based on some of her posts she did not have the easiest life.

I'm so sad to learn of this. I remember her photographs - particularly the ones of her grandson who was the light of her life. She was one of the folks who made eGullet an enjoyable place to hang out all those years ago.

I am so sad to learn of her passing. She was definitely a force on eGullet and the early days here that all of us will likely remember. Some fondly, some not. Despite that, she made an impact. What a huge loss...

Thanks so much for letting us know. She was on my mind just recently and I wondered what she'd been up to. She was a really good person. Rest peacefully, Tana.
