Hard to believe he is still living.  Hard to believe he is about to turn 100 (you thought he had passed, didn't you?).  The Times piece is nice, but there's a good interview in the current issue of The Paris Review.  Look for it.

Then that happened.

Lord, so he is. Good tip.

I’ll be at City Lights again this week, I’m sure.

Maybe we should have a "Not a Goodbye" forum?

100 yesterday. Happy birthday to him. And the Paris Review interview is a worthwhile look back.

Vera Lynn turned 102 on March 20.

Sort of.  It's about the Coney Island of the mind.

I had to work, unfortunately, so I missed it.

How wonderful. I last saw (and spoke to) Ed Sanders at Tuli Kupferberg’s memorial. Good to know he’s still getting out.

How can we meet again if she won't go away?

She’s a bit like the Statue of Liberty only shorter and more tuneful. A beacon.

Obviously she’s a great British icon of resistance against Nazi Germany but such are the times I wonder whether that counts as a political post and thus against the rules.
