That's a good story. The guys who work there could not be more gracious or humble. Carlson never came out of the kitchen during my visit because he was cooking non-stop. I gifted the kitchen a really good bottle of bourbon, and they were so appreciative it was heartwarming. We offered to share our BYO wine, and they in turn brought us a can of beer that they thought paired better with a particular course than the juice in our glasses. I hope he never changes a damn thing.

In the Atlanta airport One Flew South is a great option. Its hard to believe this place is in an airport. Some real talent in the kitchen and front of the house.

Trust Funds: What else could cause two grown men to dress up in costumes and make chocolate?

Just bought a new house. The kitchen appliances need to go. What should I get to replace them? I need: fridge, dishwasher, and a dual fuel range/oven.

Wow, they're actually human. rolleyes.gif

not so sure, that top photo looks like a lot like:

Fat people are so funny looking, right? Ha ha.

not really, but the scowl she is wearing in that photograph looks a helluva lot like Jabba. sorry, it does.

It was her neck (or lack of) that really made me think of Jabba.

great minds . . .

Quite seriously, the dinner tables are kept at the disposal of odds and sods like the President of the Republic and his chums, leaving only lunch tables free. It's a sort of high-end French Rao's. :P

and, no one's been shot to death in the dining room . . . yet

I wonder if she suffered some sort of traumatic brain injury shortly before marrying this asshole. I mean how else could one explain her willingness to spend most of the last 16 years of her life pregnant?

I don't get it. Bittman takes good recipes and dumbs them down? Every week, I look at his recipes and decide that I don't like them. Maybe I just don't get the purpose of this column.

#654380 White Wine & Indigestion

Frequently, when I drink white wine I get fierce indigestion. This never happens with red wine. Can somebody tell me what the hell is going on here?

#634714 Leftover apples

I've got a bowl of apples sitting on my counter that are getting VERY ripe. They were gifted to me, so I am unsure of the type, but I would put them in between Granny Smiths and Golden Delicious in terms of texture and tartness.

Are these too soft to make a pie? What else can I do before they are over the hill?

#623634 Burgers in NY

But would you wait on a line for it?

Dear, down here we say wait in line for it. :o

But yes, I would. If I was in the mood for that kind of burger and fries lunch, I would stand in that line for 15-20 minutes. I went at 11:30 on a weekday, and there happened to be a very short line, but I liked the food a lot for what it was. I am certainly not saying it was some amazing cuisine. It was just tasty burgers and fries.

I'd like to pit Franny against Mrs. Totonno in a cage match.

Domestically raised rabbits and wild rabbits look very similar, but taste different. However, I would not liken the difference in taste to that of the difference between an apple and orange.

Saw them perform on Austin City Limits a few weeks ago. Impressive.
