#1339373 Dumpling of the Month Club?

Posted by Eden on 23 July 2015 - 06:36 PM

LoL, I totally missed the byline!  OK no dumplings this week.

Oh and I'm one of those people who love Kabul, we've been going there forever.  I learned to make Ashak because of them :)  but I'd be happy to drive south for another Afghan restaurant :)

I'm in for whatever, as long as it's not something I suggested, because I don't think I can live it down if we get bad food on my call twice in a row ;)

I'll check & let you know.  we have a friend coming into town that weekend for a convention, so I'm not sure when we get to visit with him...  [eta - and I may have to bow out for a little while anyway.  once my allergy tests are complete I'm likely to be handed some annoying food restrictions for a month or two ]

October 10th would be great.  After that my calendar gets more complex, and I won't know my availability till next week or later

Per a conversation offline, I'm proposing that we start a Dumpling of the Month club along the lines of our Burger of the Month outings.  We may want to alternate the two depending on how busy we all are, but that's up to group consensus.

Here are a couple of possibilities to get us started.

FuMan Dumpling House

Revel

Dough Zone [albeit eastside]

Vostok Dumling House

other sugguestions?  who's in :)

It's charming.  It's owned by the same people as Spanish Table.  I don't get in there often, but the selection is fun & the employees are friendly.

Pretty sure that's not it, but it's good to know there's a new Persian Grocery Store in that area. I still miss Pars Market - they were wonderful!

That pretty well sums it up.  loved the pickled hopvines! but there's nothing else I would go back for given that the lovely company could be gathered elsewhere.

for future reference I had the burger at Naked City Brewery & Taphouse this evening. Medium rare, beefy, sturdy, but not hard bun - it was decidedly BoM worthy, and the fries were beautifully cooked if a bit over truffled.

love the idea of another crawl, but the 27th is a bit dicey for me...

#840731 Bellevue dining options

OK I'm heading to LincolnSquare on Sunday, and unfortunately for me, Porcella closes early on Sundays, so where else nearby can we dine? (I'm suggesting Bamboo Garden per comments here, but it would be nice to present a few options...)

I saw this topic as a thread for another city and thought it was a brillitant idea rather than having a new thread every time someone needs some quick help finding something...

like me right now :o I'm looking for a source, mail order OR local, for fresh citrons. Any ideas? I can sub lemons if I have to, but they're really fairly different...
