I continue my shilling for Gouie 2.0, aka SSAW, now in its permanent home in Williamsburg. Before they go into prix fixe only mode, they did some happy hours, first just sake, and then sake + an a la carte menu. Obviously I went. Also obviously, it'll probably be my last visit, since the prix fixe is $160. It was pretty great, though!
Assorted sashimi - tuna, grunt fish, some kind of snapper. The grunt fish was lightly seared and quite spectacular.
Fried pike mackerel with mushroom.
Pressed salmon sushi.
Uni with snow crab.
Totally forgot what this is. Some kinda fish!
There was also quite a bit of sake.
