    Alec Baldwin

I remember Alec Baldwin on night time soap Knot's Landing ! He played a kind of crazy pathetic obsessive evangelist boyfriend who eventually met his demise falling off a building... He's gotten better since then... and he's pretty funny. He's not going to win Father of the Year any time soon, though. He called his daughter a pig, right?
  2. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it today for dim sum. Double Dang. Have a wonderful time everyone. Rich, I hope you have a great time in Seattle!
  3. Swinery Deli Finds a New Location (in West Seattle).
  4. Happy Birthdays to Squeet and GG! as well as belated Happy Birthday to Robert40, Liza and all...
  5. I think I can make this one! Looking forward to meeting you, Rich!
  6. Leslie, do you use all five speeds? I've seen a Breville with just two speeds and am wondering what the speeds do. I do use all 5 speeds and it goes amazingly quick. *1* is for leafy greens as they are delicate and they recommend juicing them at this lower speed to extract their juice *2* is for soft fruit such as pears, especially if I have removed the skin (sometimes if I use non-organic I remove skin, but most recently I just scrub it extra well as I think there are extra nutrients in the skin I don't want to miss and my nutritionist recommends this as well). *3* I use whe

Maybe this? Yes, that's it, thanks! I just used the search feature and found where she posted the exact recipe as follows (from the Home made Granola thread Here):

Leslie, I'd love to see the photo. Thanks! Since Rebecca asked me to make a URL so she could post this photo to Mouthfuls back in August 2008, I feel she wouldn't mind if I posted it here. She is 2nd from the left wearing black and white. I'm trying to remember why she was in the paper, and may have to check old emails to see what the occasion was.
  9. I have the Breville Juice Fountain with 5 speeds. I use it at least 5 days a week or more. It helps that except for the motor base, the other pieces can all go in the top rack of the dish washer, but I've read it's one of the more easy juicers to clean. My standard recipe is (organic) 1/2 bunch celery, 1 cucumber, 1/2 medium lemon, 1 apple. To this I add whatever else I have, ie. a few kale leaves/stems, broccoli or cauliflower stems, carrot, pear, red pepper, small knob of ginger, spinach, beets/beet leaves, a leaf or 2 of mustard greens, orange, tomato ... basically almost anything

Thomas, my sincere condolences to you and your family. I met your mom at a pot luck she hosted in the PNW at her daughter's (your sister's?) house. It was so generous of her, especially as her daughter had recently given birth, and it was her first time meeting the PNW crew. I had the pleasure of meeting your mom's adorable grandson, and son in law, too. She was a big fan of Rancho Gordo's beans and the theme of our potluck was Sausage and Legumes. She gifted us each with a bag of Rancho Gordo beans. We also exchanged a few personal PMs and she checked up on me when I had been absent due
  11. I have a pic of our Zippy's burgers (with fries and onion rings) from my iPhone on Page 93 (from our earlier visit)... the burgers were so good!
  12. Sockeye, I presume? If that's the price for Chinook, then the world has turned upside down... Yes, it was the Sockeye. It was pretty darned good, too!
  13. I thought we had a Copper River Salmon thread once, but couldn't find it, so I'll post here that I bought fresh (packaged today) Copper River Salmon filet at Costco for $9.99/lb... what are other places selling it for? They also had fresh Halibut, also with today's date for $9.99, so I picked up some of that, too. Yum, fish for dinner!
  14. Thanks, Eden, this is good to know. I tried one of Cupcake Royale's free mini cupcakes on election day and it was terrible... now I don't have to be afraid of going back...
  15. Tony and I stopped at Zippy's yesterday on our way to Westcrest doggie park with Robbie... the sun was shining and we took advantage of sitting outside at one of their 2 large picnic tables. Their burgers are delicious and comforting. I had the Lil Bacon Cheeseburger (on the right) which was the perfect size for me (including perfect bun size) and Tony had a regular Zippy burger (on the left) which he also loved. Their fries are from real potatoes but were a bit light (could have been more golden brown). I love their "secret" sauce that is mayo-based... the service (especially the 2 guys)
  16. Happy Birthday, Malarkey! another cute one!
  17. I loved the artichoke salad! My bison burger (shared with Malarkey and White Lotus) was nicely medium rare and tasty, and the pork sliders were great, and both the burger and slider buns were delicious (and I'm not usually a fan of most buns). The house made corn nuts are fabulous!
  18. Do we have a reservation? I can make one if needed. I am flexible and can be there by 6:30pm or earlier... just let me know!

  20. Actually, I'm getting an unexpected sample at work and it's looking like it will be late enough that I should go another time. Are you really up for another BoM? I could do next week sometime. Steve, this would mean there's room for you for sure as I got space for 8. I was too busy with doing taxes to be able to join in, so if anyone is interested to go again I'm free now and I'd love to go... I'd also be up for going again next week--what about Thursday the 23rd? I could also do Wednesday. I'd love to go again - I can't do Thursday but Wednesday the 22nd works.

  23. Happy Birthday Rancho Gordo, and belated Happy Birthday to Splinky and others I missed...
