Any recent reports? I’ve seriously neglected my planning for this trip, so any recommendations are truly appreciated. I’ll be in Buenos Aires for about 2 weeks soon-ish, and then for a few days to a week later in Feb. Nuxvomica’s 12-year old link for Casa Saltshaker still works, and it looks like they might have some availability. My friends who live there are all vegetarians (!), so some of my more meat-centric meals may be solo. Muchas gracias.

Thanks to Sneak I now know we have a Just Copenhagen thread I have an 18hr layover in CPH on the way back from the Faroes, landing ~4pm and leaving at 10am, so I only have time for one proper meal I met a Vietnamese chef in Hanoi who had worked at Pescatarian and Kanalen. I have so much other stuff to research for the other part of the trip, that I’m inclined to be lazy and just choose one of those unless you guys have a better recommendation. Hotel recommendations are welcome too. I might just leave the meal open to chance, but I will definitely need a decent police to sleep. A

I’ve been very obsessed with the Faroe Islands since this profile of Magnus Nilsson and the accompanying article: The Next Great Scandinavian Destination. Not so much for the food as for the landscapes. It’s been building up as a popular photography location ever since. Photo tours sell out quickly despite there being many more of them this year, but I managed to get a spot after searching for a few months. I’m looking forward to learning how to shoot actual landscape photography, instead of the hop-off-the-motorbike-for-a-snapshot type of photography I’ve been practicing.

Having lived in Hunter’s Point during the building boom, it’s like it followed me across the Pulaski Bridge They had been talking about putting a pedestrian bridge over Newtown Creek to connect the north western corner of Greenpoint with Hunter’s Point to give people easier access to the 7 train, which would relieve pressure on the G. I hope it happens.

I’m very sorry to say this couldn’t be further from the truth. Walk up northern West Street near the river to see all the new high rise developments. Greenpoint is about to explode.

The food looks good! The first heard the term chôm chôm last May in Ha Giang. My guide (Tiger) and I bought some wild rambutan from a lone Hmong woman selling them on the side of the road near Yen Minh, and it’s one of the few Vietnamese words that stuck with me

As long as I can use the eSIM for T-Mobile, having one physical card slot should be fine for me. It's a moot point until I come back from this trip anyway since I leave Sunday. I have to be Blondie TwoPhones for a few more months
