Michael's voice is so nice. Last night, the inimitable Albert Lee. At the somewhat inimitable Iridium (these old "jazz" clubs are tight). Of course, his guitar playing is simply out of this world. I was surprised at how good his voice still is. His fingers are like twice as long as a regular humans.

While I'm sure you're correct, I did once ask a once well-known restaurant critic (no longer with us) who wrote the headlines/titles for her pieces. The answer was simply: "I do." But let's move on to the article about Alison Roman's country "store," In which Callie Hitchcock writes: Actually, no - Zoe is a brand, imported from Spain.

"A Museum Cafe That Is as Much a Destination as the Art" Let's not get carried away with the headline here, Robert.

As Significant Eater notes, "he's so cute, and has great hair!" I'll note he's got an earnestness along with a bit of a punk ethos - he does Bowie well. As if it needs to be mentioned, the Bowie catalog is very, very impressive. David Bowie (1967) David Bowie[f] (1969) The Man Who Sold the World (1970) Hunky Dory (1971) The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars (1972) Aladdin Sane (1973) Pin Ups (1973) Diamond Dogs (1974) Young Americans (1975) Station to Station (1976) Low (1977) "Heroes" (1977) Lodger (1979) Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps) (1980) Let's Dance (1983) Tonight (1984) Never Let Me Down (1987) Black Tie White Noise (1993) The Buddha of Suburbia (1993) Outside (1995) Earthling (1997) Hours (1999) Heathen (2002) Reality (2003) The Next Day (2013) Blackstar (2016)

Saw a fun show this past weekend - the Bowie Birthday celebration - at City Winery. The Bowie Birthday Bash Hosted By Rhett Miller And Robert Burke Warren With Michael Cerveris Michael played Hedwig in the stage production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch. And many other roles throughout his illustrious career. Something about singing a Bowie song really brings out the greatness in these people.

    Supper

Favorite winter salad of bitter greens, with a few additions. Mustard heavy vinaigrette. Roasted chicken parts from a cut up whole Snowdance Farm bird ( a new favorite). Breast removed 15 - 20 minutes prior.

    Supper

Reheated oven confit. Roasted potatoes, carrots, cabbage leaves. Vegetable samosas. Last night, Hokkaido scallops (barely cooked) over pasta. Sauce was a fair amount of butter, olive oil, white wine, garlic, shrimp/scallop stock.
