    Supper

A couple varieties of tomato, fancy cucumber (Lani's) and sweet onion. Pasta al pesto with Romano beans.

    Michel Guérard

Not used much, but have been in the collection for a long time.

    Supper

Fake Puntarelle Alla Romana; using endive instead. Fake veal piccata; using chicken instead (and boy, does this make for a quick dinner). Rice, with broccoli steamed atop for the last 5 minutes, in the Zojirushi.
  4. How about to make people more aware of the songs, so that they might want to go and listen to (or, god forbid, buy) the originals? Maybe you don't know the true audience that well - is that possible?

    NFL 2024-2025

I don’t even think that’s limited to preseason.
  9. I was able to secure a res at Mon Lapin, but it certainly looked as if they were taking walk-ins. It's not a tiny place by any stretch. We've eaten at Joe Beef a couple of times and tbh at this point, I'm more a fan of Vin Pap...suits our style of eating a little better.
  10. Yes - I didn't post about it?? We were there at the end of May. Really like Vin Mon Lapin, which Ori had told us about prior to our previous trip. Still great on this most recent visit. Vin Papillon was very good. We finally got to L'Express, which was fine, just because it's L'Express, but the food doesn't approach the other two mentioned. Sabayon is supposedly really great (from others who have eaten there). Chef is Patrice Demers, who was doing some of the best pastry, at his now closed pastry shop. Looks as if some hoop jumping is necessary to get in though. I like Jean-Talon and Atwater Markets, I guess because I like markets, and these are 2 great ones. Plenty of good coffee. We end up here, Café Myriade, because our airbnb was within walking distance of one of their locations. Plenty of good cocktails, too. https://www.instagram.com/patrice_demers/ https://www.instagram.com/sabayon.mtl/ And if you need the fix of smoked meat, I'd say avoid the tourist hell that is Schwartz's, and go here instead: Snowden Deli It's classic. Should I mention that the restaurants are not quite as reasonable as they once were, but the dollar is still going strong (and actually looks even better than it did when we were there in May). Enjoy - it's one of my favorite cities, although if you're driving (as we were), the roads are possibly the worst roads of any city in North America.

    Supper

Pork scallopini (or piccata, whichever you prefer; there are 3 or 4 thin slices of pork under the lemon, butter, white wine, capers, and garlic sauce). Roasted baby potatoes and cabbage wedges. A pretty tasty, quick and easy dinner.
  12. I'm curious, but not really interested...a friend just sent this picture... Former site of Alleva Dairy.

    Koda Farms

Interesting as I didn't realize that rice could be grown in the climate of "upstate" NY. As mentioned before, I usually buy rice from The Rice Factory, which offers an amazing selection and ability to specify degree of milling for the rice. But now I gotta try this place - might even be worth a drive up to the farm store! The Rice Factory does sell this: SYOKUSAN】Rice flour Special "For Sweets" -きぬふわやか 米粉 スイーツ用- But I have no idea if it's a sub for mochiko, and it looks pretty expensive compared to the Koda stuff. @Orik - what other products have you gotten from Great Joy farm? They have a lot! Went down a tiny rabbit hole... https://cals.cornell.edu/news/2019/10/can-rice-be-grown-new-yorks-climate
  14. But aren't they two majorly different offerings?

    Koda Farms

I just had to run down the block... Recently packaged, at the end of May, so probably the last of their production.

    Supper

Summer continues... With another caprese salad, with dashes of balsamico. Baguette alongside.

    Supper

These short, tubular pastas are becoming a favorite lately: Mezzi Rigatoni with sausage and broccoli. Roasted corn (an Italian classic) on the side.
  19. I'm here all week, ladies and gentlemen! @small h Congrats!
  20. While I've yet to have the opportunity to try Taqueria Ramirez (it is in Greenpoint, after all), yesterday we strolled over to Avenue B and E. 3rd St. to experience Carnitas Ramirez. A worthwhile stroll... Barriga (pork belly), costilla (rib meat), and maciza (butt). https://www.carnitasramirez.com/menu-explained Great tortillas, overall deliciousness. And sitting on overturned, empty, 5 gallon paint canisters from Home Depot is my idea of a good time!

A not beautiful looking, yet delicious tasting (Ugly Delicious?), Pa amb tomàquet. Paella. Con socarrat!

    Supper

I'm hoping to keep my dosage of Crestor at 5mg/daily.

    Supper

Roasted mushrooms and cousa squash. Amatriciana Estiva, a more summery, lighter version of the classic bucatini all'Amatriciana. Main difference is the use of fresh tomatoes (cherry, or as in this case, Lancaster Farms' organic garden gem tomatoes), and (hide your eyes, @Sneakeater) draining off a bit of the rendered fat from the guanciale. The pasta used is Setaro's Mezze Rigatoni.
