Deb, I already pinged you on FaceBook, but I'm so so sorry for your loss of Evie, and her perfectly diamond-shaped head. I do know what it feels like to have a beloved pet-shaped hole in your heart, and you have my deepest sympathies.

Made carnitas yesterday using mostly Jaymes's recipe. I did use milk. Didn't get around to eating it yesterday, but today it is delicious! Thanks again, Jaymes! ETA: I cooked it in my new cheapo slow cooker and finished it under the broiler in the toaster oven.
