  1. Who eats in Tribeca? Looking for a "not too fancy" restaurant. Also a bar that can make a cocktail. Is Locanda Verde the best that's out there?

    I used to read it for metal and electronic because I generally wasn't going to hear about that kind of stuff anywhere else.
  3. I look at it the other way around; at least I am not going to schlep downtown and find there's no room for me.
  4. I've been meaning to go back to Martiny, but it does require a reservation even for the bar to get through the front door. And then there's the new Angel's Share.

    I seriously thought about that and would love the two shows, but would I love schlepping from Harlem to Peter Luger two consecutive nights? But I am still thinking.

  14. I have often asked vegans to undertake a blind taste test of real and non-meat haggis. They always demur.

    I didn’t feel like cooking after a day of staying indoors and rearranging books. I had a piece of pork loin so I smeared it all over with Maille mustard, rolled it in seasoned breadcrumbs (with paprika) and put it in the oven for 45 minutes. Cooked with indifference, served with a lemon wedge, it was really good. I regret that I was too sullen to take a photo.
  18. The Bijou is great. This is the prune variant of course (soak a prune in any liquor and it becomes good eating).
  19. Thanks Stephanie. I do love recipes where I have all the ingredients. That will be first up in cocktail hour this evening. (Actually I don't have a cherry. I have a prune.)
