  1. That was really fun last night, thanks Wendy and Dayne for setting it up. A couple of things to add to the thoughts of the evening: The pizza crust was different than when I had it there before. It was more cracker-like this time and more spongy last time. They were both thin and tasty, just different. Also there was more tomato on the Salumi pizza this time. It was more of an olive oil base last time. I agree, the prawn pizza was fantastic. I agree on the bun, it needs to be more substantial or have something to keep the meat juices (mmmm, meat juices) from soaking into it. My burger
  2. Please add Paul and I to the list.
  3. Her name is Traca and she is excited to meet everyone.
  4. If it's okay, a woman from my bread breaking class would love to come too!
  5. Dayne and I are planning on checking out these burgers Monday July 11th for dinner....anyone want to join us? Yes, please. What time?
  6. I agree. Our guest room is ready and waiting for your visit. Hurry Back!
  7. I picked up a nice piece at Ballard Market last night. We brushed it with a little hazelnut oil, sprinkled it with salt and pepper and grilled it to medium-rare. Paul and I both agreed that this was, by far, the best salmon we have ever had. My father has been raving about Yukon River salmon for years but this was my first taste of it. How long is the season? I want to be sure to have it a few more times before it is gone.
  8. You couldn't have picked Sport during basketball season, couldja Now what am I supposed to do while I am there?
  9. I just talked to University Seafood and they got Copper River today......they said they will get the Yukon's in tomorrow. I just did a quick phone survey of the places near me (can you tell I really want this for dinner tonight?): Ballard Market $19.99/lb Whole Foods $22.99/lb Pure Fish $26.00/lb Larry's Market $27.99/lb
  10. As far as I know, yes. I'm on my way right now. I'll have my cell phone on if anyone needs to call. See you in a few......
  11. I'd recommend Persimmon but quick, it is not.
  12. Do we get to sit in the scary room towards the back? See you Friday!
  13. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to be able to make it either.
  14. Luau is all papered up with a sign on the door saying it had been repossesed by the original owners and, after a quick remodel, would be re-opening soon.
  15. Thanks everyone for making Cameron and Anita's going away party such a great event. You all are really the best. Can you believe all the fabulous food we had? Everything was sooo good. Jan, you absolutely must post the recipe for the coctal de camerones. I think Jaymes' idea of starting a thread for recipes is great. Both the Charro beans and the chile rellenos (from Jaymes' recipes) were fantastic too. Actually, there was nothing there that I wouldn't (and didn't!) have seconds of. I also want to thank everyone for the help keeping things going smoothly. Rocky, you deserve an award f

  22. I'm open for lunch every day that week except Tuesday, though Monday or Friday would be my preference. We are a busy, busy bunch.
  23. I'm glad you and Joe can come Laurel! Although I think it would be fun to make tortillas, given that they take 2 minutes each to cook and approximately 50 tortillas to make, I think we should go with pre-made for this event. Maybe we can do it with a smaller group sometime........
  24. If we're talking dinner, I can do it.
