    Gigs

It's not until August but we got tix for The Who at the Prudential Center in August. And we're taking the kid. He became obsessed with Tommy last year and I'm looking forward to doing a deep dive into their catalogue with him over the next few months.
  2. Of course you know this little bit of Elvis Costello trivia.😊
  3. I made pizza too. Mine isn't nearly as pretty. But it's topped with ramp and asparagus so I'm excited.
  4. Have you ever considered using jam?
  5. My car is very much the sports taxi. During hockey season I'm putting at least 100 miles/week on the car just driving back and forth to the rink. I won't even tell you how much I spend on bridge tolls. We drive to lax and depending on the season we have to drive to soccer. And one day a week my husband picks the boy up from school to drive him to baseball practice because it starts at 4:30 and he finishes school at 4:20.
  6. OMG!!! I loved her! I first saw her when she opened for Peter Himmelman at the The Bottom in late '94/early '95 and was smitten. We would try to see her whenever she was in NY and made a point of seeing Fuck Seventh Grade, which was great. Totally crushed.
  7. We street park so I'm very attuned to your concerns. Even when I'm not trying to park, I'm aware of the parking situation, so you can imagine my reaction to seeing a Suburban parked on the street today. The thing was taking up the equivalent of 2.5 spaces!
  8. I bought a Tramontina. Nothing particularly fancy. The price was right and it's got some nice heft.
  9. I bought a new 8" non-stick frying pan for eggs. Oh my god, it's an absolute delight!
  10. I'm so excited for both of the shows. I saw Sherald at Hauser & Wirth in 2019 and it was magnificent.
  11. I loved The Alarm. I listened to The Stand incessantly when it came out. Still have my copy on vinyl.
  12. At Terhune the ramps were $6 for one or $10 for 2.
  13. NYC Legend! I used to see his son Adrian at the W. 97th street market every week.
  14. My seasonal breakfast has been yogurt with matzo granola.
  15. Guess I need to go down to USGM. I see ramp matzo brie with schmaltz in my future!
  16. Speaking of eggs, based on my notes from prior years I made sure to buy 5 doz in advance of the holiday. But I used so many that I sent the boy out to buy an addition 2 dozen.
  17. Conveniently, I have two egg whites in a bowl.
  18. This morning I learned that rizz is derived from charisma.
  19. I hear "slay", "cringe", and "gyat" at home. It's so much fun to live with a member of Gen Alpha!
  20. We were just the three of us for the first night at the boy's request. Last night we had 4 guests and it was actually a lot of fun. Everyone got along and there were a lot of digressions and silliness. For the second year in a row, the boy was an enormous help with prep. He made all the bake goods - coconut cookies (these are not macaroons!), almond flour brownies, and Roden's Gateau L'Orange. And his matzo balls were well flavored and perfectly textured. I started working with him a bit on knife skills with some chopping. My annoyance is that my husband forgot to put back in the fridge the sweet and sour meatballs I made. And I'm still not even sure why he took them out in the first place.
  21. We were obsessed with Thornbirds. "No more nasty hookythorns!"
  22. I already have some ground lamb for passover. I'm not sure if I'll be making koftes or a mina, which is sephardic meat and matzo pie.
