  1. You can thank the wildfire smoke for that. https://www.sfgate.com/news/editorspicks/article/Bay-Area-sky-orange-wildfire-smoke-San-Francisco-15553461.php#photo-19930736
  2. We enjoyed a sensational INDOOR dinner out for the first time in six months at Il Nido in Marlborough Township, NJ. All of the tables were nicely spaced and the servers were fully masked. We went early and had the whole room to ourselves for the first hour. They removed some tables and only had 5 tables in this particular room. They have 3 other rooms plus they set up beautiful canapes outside and took up a big chunk of the parking lot. The outside was jammed when we left. The owners added hepa filters for better air circulation. We enjoyed a delicacy of 36 month aged culatello with hazelnuts;

    Supper

    Mrs. P made a healthy roasted cauliflower steak topped with sautéed red onions, and roasted shishito and mini peppers on the side. I topped it off with spicy Korean Gochujang sauce to give it a nice kick. It was also marinated in balsamic vinegar to give it a nice char.

    Supper

    Mrs. P made a very refreshing watermelon salad with feta, mascarpone, pistachios, pickled red onions, arugula, fresh homegrown mint, in a balsamic reduction. It was an excellent start to a crab fest featuring Dungeness crab and Alaskan king crab claws. We had TJ’s sweet potato fries on the side. It all went great with a nice red blend aged in rum barrels.

    Supper

    Mrs. P prepared another spectacular feast. She made homemade guacamole and chips, deep fried soft shell crabs and shrimp, and BBQ Creole shrimp in the style of Mr. B’s in New Orleans. I could take a bath in that sauce. It all went great with an excellent California red blend and Italian Primitivo.

    Supper

    The last few days Mrs. P made some excellent fresh Whole black sea bass and filets from Local 130 Seafood in Asbury Park, NJ. I highly recommend them for those living in NJ. During normal times they deliver to some of the top restaurants in NJ, and now they have been delivering to regular customers, usually within 24 hours. https://local-130-seafood-online-shop.myshopify.com/collections/whats-fresh

We had sugar snap peas, snow peas, seaweed, ginger, soy, and wasabi on the side. The tartare was mixed with avocado, red onions, toasted black and white sesame seeds, and soy sauce.

    Supper

    During the week we received some beautiful fresh caught seafood from Local 130 Seafood. I placed an online order on Tuesday night, and Wednesday before noon a Local 130 Seafood delivery truck was in front of my home. Very impressive. I highly recommend them for those living in NJ. They used to deliver to all of the high end restaurants in NJ, but with the lockdown have pivoted to delivering to regular customers. We ordered whole red snapper, black bass fillets, and wild caught Big Eye tuna. One night Mrs. P made some outstanding crispy sautéed black sea bass with capers, vermouth, butter, and

  16. That's the good thing about living in NJ; all of the BYO restaurants. That reduces the price of a nice meal to $100 to $150 per COUPLE. I would rather pay more for food then triple or quadruple the price of a bottle of wine. Granted the food might not be as avant garde as NYC but at least it is affordable.
  17. Well the NJ restaurants will welcome you And most of them are BYO What's the plane fare? Under $20 in tolls over the bridge
