we might not have ramps but these are ok as a substitute
-
no, it’s that we both like snacks - we could be discussing british water crackers and hubby has almost no willpower. i’ll have maybe 5-6 and he’ll eat the entire bag. i’ll mention your suggestion though. i think he realizes that going back the other direction would mean that this effort was for naught, so that is sufficient to be a restraint.

hubby says middle of january so about eight weeks. he went from 218 to 189 (13.1 kg). his big thing is snacks which are historically a struggle to refrain from going overboard. whatever he’s doing now is working. i’m proud of him.

it has been quite a while. i’ll ask tomorrow.

hubby has lost 25 lbs./11.3 kg doing a modified version of keto i’m impressed to say the least

roast chicken, green salad, spinach with guanciale, apple galette, cheese plate, low carb ice cream and low carb brownies. not bad. each of the chickens were 2 1/2 lbs./1.1 kg

the place with the bresse chicken didn’t have any product we wanted. (so why do you have signs out advertising such? 🧐) we bought from root down farm instead. the market is in a holding pattern until early spring produce starts coming in. i am *really* tired of cabbage, rutabagas and other root vegetables.

lol thanks for the menu, i’ll pass it on to one of my friends who lives in italy; she’s endlessly fascinated by american food. she’s an expat who divides her time between france and italia.

from the sf chronicle: https://www.sfchronicle.com/food/restaurants/article/rancho-gordo-discrimination-lawsuit-17802162.php in case you are unable to read that due to the paywall, this bit not mentioned in eater might be of interest: Court documents shed light on what became a contentious legal battle between Rancho Gordo and the former worker. Lyons at one point accused Rancho Gordo of destroying evidence — deleting text messages related to the case, which the company said happened “in the regular course of business.” A judge found Rancho Gordo’s response “evasive” and

ragù di manzo served with pasta mista (whole wheat penne rigate, gemelli and the chickpea rigatoni); verdure ripassate in padella (sprouting broccoli, stinging nettles); green salad; orange and grapefruit the pasta was cooked later and i didn’t take a photo of that

we tried this chickpea pasta and unfortunately it doesn’t work: mushy texture, nearly flavorless. rather unfortunate, since we were hoping for something that expands the pool of available options.

seen today at the market we usually go to fatted calf first because it’s inside the sf ferry building and by the time we come outside to where they’re located, our bags are almost full. we’re making a point to buy from these guys instead next weekend for our annual oscars viewing party. they also have rabbit available 😍

Blowout cookbook sale on Geary Blvd, SF
Diancecht replied to voyager's topic in California, Nevada and Hawaii
i didn’t go either, hubby needed consoling because he’s re-entering the workforce today at age 65 it’s a long story….he’s not getting as much $ with his pension in july due to rising interest rates and while the increase in social security helps, along with some financial assistance from me, it’s not enough to make ends meet given that his disability compensation ends in a few months. -
crab, shrimp and okra gumbo i think i added too much liquid but at least i browned the roux properly after an hour of stirring
