DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU ARE WATCHING THE TOURNAMENT!!! IT IS BEING BROADCAST ON A TAPE DELAY!!!                                                                     O

All true, but he owes no one an apology or explanation except his wife.   Even his sponsors have an "out" clause. All they need to do is enforce it.   Vicarious lives exist in the prism of fant

To me, a legendary event in the history of sport took place today.

I heard that Woods was an alien from another galaxy. Now personally I think that it doesn't matter what your background is, but people are making a big fuss about how that's not fair and it could have a really serious impact on sponsorship and such.

But he is good at golf, isn't he ?

Even if he did just get duumped by Shaun Micheel in the first round of the World Matchplay.

Woods doesn't do Matchplay. It is beneath him. He only does big tournaments where he plays against 200+ players and consistently beats them. All of them. Little individuals bore him. Lets see what pigmy Shaun does at the Masters next April. If he qualifies. Tiger is like Nicklaus and Hogan only much, much better. And a hell of a good looking wife to boot.

It is not even close

Shaun is at # 77.

Woods doesn't do Matchplay.

Then what is he doing in in the Ryder Cup next week ?

Listen, I don't do matchplay either, after I just got beaten in a big game  All I know is that Woods was interviewed immediately he came off the course, and he had no idea whether he was staing in London, or going to Ireland, or going to Florida for a few days. It's clear that he hadn't even considered the possibility of losing this one.

Listen Junior, he was there and will be at the Ryder Cup because he gets serious appearance money and because sometimes he can't say no to his corporate masters, who, by the way keep his silly schedule. Once he is in situ and recognizes the situation, he determines how much effort he will put into the endeavor.

Another win at Torrey Pines. This one coming from 2 shots back.

It will be interesting to see if he plays in LA and evern more interesting to see what happens at the Match Play in Tucson the third week in February.

I turned it on and he was still behind by 2 and 10 minutes later he was up by 1.

One thing that distinguishes him by far from other players is he always knows what he needs to do in certain situations. And I mean how to play the hole based on his position in the tournament. Other golfers not only make bad shots but bad decisions. He seems to avoid them, at least since Steve Williams handed him his driver on I forget which hole at Augusta several years ago that may have cost him another championship.
