The surviving Pythons are scheduled to appear on Jimmy Fallon tonight. Hopefully good for a laugh or two.

I wasn't optimistic enough to shell out the bucks to watch them MC the premiere of the new documentary, but a late-night talk show is easy & cheap, much like myself.

It was rather unremarkable. Eric got in a good zinger about Fallon's monologue & performed The Bright Side Of Life, which The Roots made amusing.

 

Michael Palin was MIA.

 

The most interesting moment was Cleese's passionate recollection about a performance by Cook, Moore, Miller & Bennett in the 1960s, which he says remains the funniest thing he's ever seen. The rosy-eyed memories of youth or reality? We'll never know.

Very trivial trivia: Eric used Fallon as his "long lost son" on his utterly forgettable made-for-tv follow-up to the original Rutles movie, Can't Buy Me Lunch.
