Wilfrid
I am still grumpy about missing the last seat for the Valdespino tasting last week.

Sneakeater
Yeah. The movie wasn't great, but the program as a whole was. The crowd (even apart from Nux and Mr. Nux, two of my favorite eating and drinking buddies) was fun: a mixture of fairly elderly Hispanophones and The New York Wine And Cocktail Crowd. The all-you-can-eat Iberico was, um, awesome (even if the passed tapas were only good). The all-you-can-drink range of Palo Cortados was a great experience. And while the Sherry Cobbler cocktail was neither here nor there, the Bamboo/Adonis fusion was really, really good (I hope joethefoodie will forgive me if I say he would have loved it). Just being in the Amster Yard courtyard on a beautiful fall night is about as good as life gets. I'm happy I finally got to one of the Instituto Cervantes events. Now that I'm on their mailing list, I hope it won't be the last.
Orik
I think if you have any interest in Spanish wine, Helio's classes are invaluable - although if you're trying to drink your already excessive inventory they may not be the right thing.
joethefoodie
the Bamboo/Adonis fusion was really, really good (I hope joethefoodie will forgive me if I say he would have loved it). Of course I forgive you - I'm just pissed I waited too long to RSVP. How'd they fuse the 2 cocktails - 1/2 dry and 1/2 sweet on the vermouth, or did they also use 2 different sherries? Sneakeater
I think both. (Def half dry half sweet vermouth.)

Yes. Best wine bar in town.
