Okay, we can't have a comfort food party without mac and cheese. I'll plan to bring the Patti LaBelle recipe. It's not as decadent as Henry and Lorna's but it's definitely comfort food!

Paul and I are looking forward to seeing you all!

I'll bring greens, but they won't be southern greens.

Now, here's some true weirdness: I'll bring a salad. Yes, that's right, a green salad with smoked trout and spicey toasted pecans with a smoked paprika and harissa vinaigrette.

I'll bet nobody has salad on their list of comfort foods! But it might make a nice counterpoint to what everyone else is bringing.

ps- Kim, can you PM me directions?

Yay Lauren! I was noticing that Mac & cheese was significantly missing from the menu.

Bill & I will also bring a token green dish of some kind

So now we have

Barry: Potato Knishes

Rocky: mapo tofu

Lauren: Mac & cheese

Carolyn: Sausage, Potato and Kale soup OR Cream of mushroom soup

Ling: Chinese pork belly, and dessert - maybe carrot cake.

Fred: chocolate cake.

Steve: Chicken and dumplings.

Shalmanese: “Chinese comfort food”

Leslie: braised lamb with flageolet beans.

Eden: Buttermilk pie

Bill: token greens

mysiumai: egg salad

Della: Chili?

I'm going to a dinner party at my trainer's house on Fri. and we're supposed to bring an example of our biggest "temptation" food.

I'm planning to take a jar of Best Foods!

Ahhh. Please come to my party, too, March 10th. You can sit by me.

Seconded. I hope we'll see a bunch of recipe posts after this -- I'm really sad I can't make it.

Eden thanks for printing out the list of what everyone is bringing. YUMMMM, making my mouth water.

Also to add to Eden's list is Malarkey's green salad with smoked trout and spicey toasted pecans with a smoked paprika and harissa vinaigrette.

I can't wait to try everything!

Definitely mapo for me. Where's Reese?! We need greens!

Rocky

oh rocky, i can't believe you remembered. and those greens were vegetarian...how things have changed! i wish i could come, but i'm working tomorrow during the day and won't have time to make/gather anything.

i will *sorely* miss 2 of my favorite things that start with K (knishes and kale) and of course, all the splendid company.

tacos are my current comfort food of choice. i would bring slow braised pork with orange and onion. and homemade tortillas. and pico de gallo. and avocado. and tapatio.

have fun!!

As I've just returned from the store, it's definitely the Sausage, Potato and Kale soup, with a grating of Grana Padano for anyone who so desires. Wine, too, of course. Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow. Kim and Dave, thanks for having us!

Cheers,
