You're right. But before my time. Rancho might remember board shorts being called jams on the West Coast. I don't ever remember hearing the term around here when I was growing up.

Now I remember why they were called Dolphin shorts in California. There was a brand called Dolphin. Yeah, I remember the type of men who wore those. I'm sure they were the guys who later embraced the mullet or long ponytail with a balding top look.
