Cheesy grits (probably some fruit on the side).  Recent bread toasted, 2 excellent cheeses, heirloom navel orange and apple.

It's hard to take a decent picture at breakfast...

Fruit compote with yogurt and banana bread with peanut butter.

Significant Eater informed me that she didn't really like the compote, which is assorted dried fruit and a fresh apple or two; she only liked the apple part. Oy.

My Fitbit suggested a high protein breakfast this morning so scrambled eggs, chorizo, cotija cheese and avocado. With some chipotle salsa.  Wanted to make sure to get the  fat covered as well. 😅

Is that a "meat sweats" emoji?

Leftovers sometimes are (almost) as good as the original (better?). Always make some extra risotto, so...

Risotto pancakes.

Topped with a fried egg, over medium. That's the ways she likes it!

Oatmeal/pecan/chocolate Dutch baby. Hadn't even heard of a Dutch baby before a friend posted this one on IG yesterday....delicious and a nice way to get the kids to eat some egg.

We had a chunk of whitefish hanging out in the fridge so “brunch” was chunky style whitefish salad with a slice of tomato on a challah roll.

Something we haven't had for a while. When I brought it to table, Significant Eater said her mouth was watering. Bagel (toasted, because they come frozen) from Utopia Bagels (some of the better bagels available in NYC, imo), hand-sliced Scottish smoked salmon, Philadelphia cream cheese, capers, cherry tomatoes.

JtF's salmon brings up a question. How long will a pack of smoked salmon keep once it's opened?

I'd say 3-4 days. I have 2 lbs coming from Browne today. 😄

The highlight of my days are now food deliveries.

Thanks...I had been on an egg white omelet with smoked salmon and chives kick. But couldn't face another one. So the salmon has been sitting a lot longer than 2-3 days 🤯 Definitely time for it to go 🤢
