I try to save drippings whenever I roast a chicken (assuming I don't need the drippings for the roasted chicken preparation).   So this morning I took a spoon of solidified chicken drippings, heated

Had some leftover pizzza dough...Preheated the oven while I did morning things, then threw it on the stone, with lots of fresh thyme (one of the herbs that's growing well), EVOO, S&P...A minute be

A bit of a rush job yesterday, wheat flour crepes - the batter had rested overnight in the fridge.

2 savory - filled with scrambled eggs and ham. Folded one just spread with some June Taylor marmalade - yuzu/Meyer lemon.

You think you know a person, and then you discover after you've lived together for 17ish years that they own one of those ring things that enables you to make the perfect breakfast sandwich. Better late than never!

That's true, but I don't eat meat. And kudos to you, calling it Taylor Pork Roll and thus refusing to take sides in the Taylor ham vs. pork roll debate. Diplomacy!

I'm from Monmouth County, evidently the #1 county in terms of pork roll vs. ham preference (beating out Mercer County, where they make the stuff!).

Oh, I've had it.  Just wasn't sure about its um composition.

(I even had a fancy artisanal version at home in the beginning of Quarantine.  It lasted forever:  even the artisanal version never went bad.)

Me, too (Ocean Township). My gold standard for breakfast sandwiches is Edie's in Little Silver. Second place is the Americana Diner in Shrewsbury. Third place is the Blue Swan in Oakhurst. I haven't been to any of these in a thousand years, but I still hold them in my heart.

Yesterday: sourdough Meyer lemon & blueberry waffles, inspired by finding a bag of blueberries in the freezer that was part of last summer's garden bounty.

Today: avocado toast, because we happened to have a good sturdy bread (sesame miche from a local bakery), not just a sandwich loaf.
