Jacques really loves the garlic.

He does, and I don't really like front-and-center raw garlic. I don't know what I thought would happen - it's not like the egg cooks all the way through.

I try to save drippings whenever I roast a chicken (assuming I don't need the drippings for the roasted chicken preparation).   So this morning I took a spoon of solidified chicken drippings, heated

same as yesterday honeydew and blueberries with fat freee cottage cheese whole grain toast with p-nut butter and sour cherry preserves

Had some leftover pizzza dough...Preheated the oven while I did morning things, then threw it on the stone, with lots of fresh thyme (one of the herbs that's growing well), EVOO, S&P...A minute be

I presume someone in your household has my name initials?

No! That is swag from a Twin Peaks event. One of the locations in the series is the Double R Cafe. Where Agent Cooper enjoyed some damn fine coffee and cherry pie.

I was obsessed with it. A friend with industry connections got a (VHS! with time code!) screener of the pilot before it aired, I hosted a watch party, and watched every episode probably 3X. I own a silly amount of Twin Peaks stuff - the series on DVD, obviously, but also the soundtrack, Laura Palmer's diary (written by David Lynch's daughter Jennifer), a set of cassettes comprising Agent Cooper's notes to his secretary, Diane...

"Twas a great run of show.

Tested my crepe making skills this am; been at least a year.  So it only took 3 bad ones (and a slightly burnt finger) for everything to fall into place.

Sautéed an apple while making the crepes, which then got a schmear of that confiture in the upper corner.

This was dessert after bialys and lox.

It is possible that it would be my choice for "you can only watch one show from now on." For this story, if for nothing else:

Quote

Bob made his first appearance in the pilot episode, "Northwest Passage", where he makes a brief appearance in a vision Sarah Palmer has. The character eventually grew into the series' main antagonist in the second season. (Frank) Silva, a set dresser on the pilot, was given the role of Bob after a reflection of his face in a mirror was accidentally captured by the camera during filming. When series creator David Lynch saw Silva's face, he liked it so much he kept it in the show, and cast him as Bob.[2]

How awesome is that?

If you are as - let's just say "familiar with" - the show as I am, you'll remember the scene in which Audrey gets a job at One-Eyed Jacks because she can tie a cherry stem into a knot inside her mouth. I was working for a literary agency at the time, and the day after that episode aired, I and my co-worker spent the entire day learning this useful skill. So, apologies if anyone called and I didn't pick up. I was busy almost choking and getting Red Dye #2 poisoning.
