Anthony Bonner
Hmm. I've been using Masienda Masa Harina and I've been surprised how easy it's been. I had issues in the past. I also was given a nice heavy duty tortilla press. These were all Xmas gifts including the Masa Harina.

More annoying than pizza, for some reason. Dried, from one of the vendors at Essex Market. The dough is very hard to work with. If it's pliable, it's too sticky to roll out. If it's dry enough to roll out, it gets raggedy (photographic proof above). I've been using Rick Bayless' method, but I'm gonna switch it up, 'cause it's not working for me. Anthony Bonner
Oh. I don't think you can roll things out that don't have gluten-ish things.
small h
Well, you can try. And be mediocre at it. I posted a picture of some passable fish tacos a few days ago.
voyager
Interesting technique shown on ??? cooking show. Cut off three sides of a heavy gallon plastic bag, like a ziploc. Leaving the bag like a closed book, draw with a marker a circle the size of the tortilla you want to make. Put that side down on your work surface. Open the pocket and place a ball of masa in the center of the circle. Cover with the other half of the plastic. Use a glass pie plate to press the dough into a perfect circle. So it says... joethefoodie
Or...tortilla press.
joethefoodie
Interestingly, this (tortillas) is one of those products which tend to aggravate me so much that I just buy them premade. Tortilleria Nixtamal sells one pound bags for like $5. And this product is actually quite acceptable... At Whole Foods, Fresh Direct, and elsewhere I'm sure.
Anthony Bonner
Their chips are great. The Masienda ones are so freaking good. I think it'll be hard to go back.

I do the ziploc thing (minus the circle, 'cause I don't really care what size it turns out to be), but not the pie plate thing. I guess I'll try that.
