Wilfrid
I went to see “Reimagine: Himalayan Art Now,” the new show at the Rubin, completely oblivious to the sad news that the museum will permanently close in the fall. It’s a great show to go out with, spread over 7 (is that right?) floors. It presents work by 32 contemporary Himalayan/diaspora artists boasting a huge range of different practices. The brilliant curatorial stroke is to present this work embedded in the Rubin’s permanent collection, surrounded by its legacy influences. Not to be missed.
