MitchW
I know California has a lot of coastline; I mean, I lived in Santa Barbara, have spent time in San Diego, Santa Cruz, Marin, etc. but I just think the Sonoma coast is so beautiful. And driving around and through rural Sonoma county, you could easily be in another land. This is the Russian River meeting the Pacific Ocean. At Jenner, CA. At the mouth of the river, harbor seals haul out and have their pups. Like, hundreds of them. At what is called Goat Rock Beach. StephanieL
To me, the whole coast around here is wonderful. All of the coastline in my part of the East Coast is flat flat flat. Over the weekend, we did some glorious driving and trail walking around Pacifica, Princeton Point, and Half Moon Bay. And the former always has a big float in the Tournament of Roses parade. 🙂

We've been watching them for a long time, and worry every time one of them brings up a bird to feed the eaglets. Apparently, the peregrines are no longer around at UC Berkeley, and she had successfully raised chicks for over 10 years. Experts believe they succumbed to avian flu.
