Washington Post offers several suggestions from its "newly opened" column. These don't appear to be full reviews, more like a first impressions comment.

Unfortunately, many of the newly opened places are extensions of chain restaurants.

Gordon Biersch

The Rockville location of this chain of brewery/restaurants from Chattanooga, Tenn., is at East Middle Lane and Maryland Avenue, the gateway to the new downtown Rockville Town Square development, a mix of restaurants, shops and residences. .....

The burgers are good -- almost too good; 10 ounces is a lot of meat. The accompanying garlic fries taste mostly of garlic instead of potato. Among appetizers, the pot stickers and chicken wings were bland, but the Southwestern egg rolls were flavorful and slightly spicy, combining pulled chicken, black beans and corn. Service was prompt and professional from a corps of college-age servers who seem to swarm the place.

Greystone Grill

.....In addition to a selection of steaks -- all Black Angus -- the grill also features chicken, lamb and pork dishes as well as entree salads and seafood selections. The beef tenderloin Napoleon is a layering of roasted potatoes, sauteed spinach and tenderloin medallions...

La Tasca

...The menu is primarily tapas -- small Spanish-style appetizers that can be combined for a full meal or eaten individually. There are several paella selections, all of which must be ordered for at least two people.

Although the setting is colorful and festive, the tapas I tried won't draw me back soon. The serrano ham was dried and leathery, the marinated anchovies were rubbery, and the chicken croquettes had no taste of chicken.

Opening later will be Austin Grill, Doc Green's, La Flor de la Canela, Lebanese Taverna, Moe's Southwest Grill, Oro Pomodoro, Red Parrot Asian Cafe, Stonefish Grill, Taste of Saigon and Thai Pavilion.
