omnivorette
I think LSD trips by their parents probably would have had a better result.
Liza
Trips, of the sub category ego- or acid-, don't mix well with parenthood.
omnivorette
Of course I didn't mean during pregnancy or parenting. I was joking around - implying that if those parents had been LSD types back in the day, they might have been different types than they actually turned out to be...as seen in their resulting children. Rebecca
The one who's really screwed up mentally, in my humble opinion, is Lindsay. There are some major character flaws that should've been established ("inculcated") by age 9 or so. Her deep seated dishonesty and lack of personal remorse are a major, major problem. Far more crippling than her drug or alcohol abuse.
SethG
I had no idea you and she were acquainted.
Rebecca
You are sooooo mean. My problem is just the reverse - - too many remorses! And I tend to take the blame for other's mistakes, not pointing fingers. That has its own little empty-headed pathology. I'm actually beginning to like Paris now that I've pegged her at IQ 78. However, I think your point is, ahem, that commenting on a celebrity based solely on media reports are inapproriate. You are right, of course. But, then, so would be this whole blog, right? rancho_gordo
Her deep seated dishonesty and lack of personal remorse are a major, major problem. Far more crippling than her drug or alcohol abuse. But aren't these often symptoms of booze and drugs?
Rebecca
But aren't these often symptoms of booze and drugs? Goes both ways, I guess, as defense mechanisms. Booze and alcohol can be symptoms of a very screwed up moral base. As a parent, I have always been interested in personality development and also believe in absolute truth within a religious framework. Right and Wrong. Lindsay's behavior of claiming celebrity is above the law and "the black guy did it" is appalling to me. Far worse and far more disturbing than doing drugs and alcohol. yvonne johnson
Absolute truth is tricky.
omnivorette
Booze and alcohol can be symptoms of a very screwed up moral base. Or maybe just the disease called alcoholism.
Lauren
I have no idea why, but I'm totally into this lindsay thing, but mostly via Perezhilton.com. I hadn't heard of this Perez Hilton guy before I saw this thread, and then I saw a story about his growing fame and influence in the NY Times this weekend. So I looked at the site, and, call me old-fashioned, but I don't think I've ever seen more convincing proof that our culture is in serious trouble. It is one thing for a person like Paris Hilton to become famous for doing absolutely nothing except being rich and showing her privates every month or so. That is bad enough. It is still another for a person to become influencial-- perhaps even make a living-- for doing nothing more than posting pictures of the "famous" on his site, defaced by crude drawings of drool and penises. People, you look at this site several times a day? Don't you have anything else to do?? I do find him juvenile - his drawings remind me of the things my schoolmates drew in high school. But I like having a way to look at the trashy celeb photos without picking up the mags in line at the grocery store!
rancho_gordo
Thank goodness for Photoshop. Who will play the Helen Lawson part? Imagine this scene with Britney and Jennifer Aniston!!
Daniel
I think Paris hit the wall.. Years of clean living has done her well. That mug is kind of tough to look at..
jesteinf
Employees of the Wynn Casino attempt to stop Britney Spears’ bodyguard, Julio “JC” Camera, from punching a photographer in Las Vegas, July 26, 2007. A bunch of friends and I were in Las Vegas for my bachelor party this weekend staying at the Wynn. This scene happened literally right in front of two of the guys that were there with us. Fantastic stuff.
