Miguel Gierbolini
Thanks lonug. La Grange IS the RIFFest of the RIFFests. The whole song is a riff.
Behemoth
I can play the opening riff from "Smoke on the Water". I do not count this among my greatest achievements. Nor should you. But the best SOTW story I ever heard was in an interview with Tommy Lee, erstwhile drummer of the Crüe. (aka Mr. Anderson-Locklear.) Apparently his first instrument, bought by well-meaning parents, was an accordion. He figured out the opening chords of smoke on the water and went to town on the thing out his bedroom window. Next morning on the way to school -dude were you playing an accordion last night? -nah, man, that was a guitar. I don't feel like looking through the whole thread. I assume Iron Man has been covered. rancho_gordo
The drum beat, bass line and finger snaps spell only Fever by Peggy Lee.

ivan
Oh, here and there. Here's another one for this seemingly inexhaustible thread: School's Out! H5h-ZN9GgHw This one requires the DEN notation.
hollywood
It's next to impossible to move back or forth in this thread. I'm guessing it's because there's so much video loaded on the thread. So, not knowing what's been cited, I'll just throw out a lot of CCR, Ricky Don't Lose That Number, Sweet Home Alabama, Light My Fire, Los Angeles (X), Tenth Avenue Freeze Out, That Thing, You're Gonna Miss Me, a lot of Chuck Berry (of course it's easy to recognize, but hard to figure out which song it's meant to be), Sweet Jane, a lot of Cream has good riffs but you don't hear Cream much these days, Paper Planes (M.I.A.). mongo_jones
Crazy busy day, will have to go back and read this later perhaps, so slap me down if these have been mentioned: Psycho Killer, Brown Sugar. Bears repeating. I recognize it from the first chord. So do millions. I was going to mention Hard Day's Nigth's opening chord, but that's not a riff. read the first, and most correct, post, you goddamned communist.
