nuxvomica
I wish they'd shown more of his actual cooking technique. Lots of dazzling colors on plates, but not much insight into how the dishes are actually composed. would have been nice. instead the premise of the documentary seemed to be "here's a genius. here's what happens to him." superficial. Although WE would enjoy that, I am not sure it "translates" to the screen, in a way that the average viewer would find interesting.
Wilfrid
Who says people wouldn't find my cooking interesting? Why not?
Wilfrid
Photos permitted at Corton? Yes, if you're Tina Wong. But then, her photos are really good. Wandering Eater's Corton tasting
oakapple
I would have been in a coma half-way through, but I have to admit it's stunning to look at.
Wilfrid
And, without wishing to be unduly personal, the question "Where does she put it all?" might have been invented for Tina.
changeup
Corton doesn't allow photos? Flickr is loaded with them: http://www.flickr.com/photos/balexliu/sets/72157627481996067/with/6119874096/ from August 30th for example.

Wandering Eater's Corton tasting Did they have a strict no photos policy for a while? Looks like it's changed if so. Wilfrid
Oh I know. So does this widely reported "no photos" policy wax and wane, or are some photographers given special license?
changeup
AFAIK, the only restaurants with no photo policies are BK Fare and Ko. I think you're right, Corton did have some policy early on, but I believe that went away a while back when they were struggling post post-review period. Remember when Lincoln claimed it wouldn't allow photography? That didn't even last through F&F...
oakapple
The strict no-photos rule at Corton lasted only a short while. The current statement on the website (no flash photography) has been there for a very long time: more than 2 years.
rozrapp
Oh I know. So does this widely reported "no photos" policy wax and wane, or are some photographers given special license? When we were at Corton with u.e. in May 2009, photos were permitted with no restrictions. Shortly after that, they instituted a strict no photo policy, so that when we went back in September with our daughter and son-in-law, I took no photos of that dinner. (They did provide me a copy of our menu and wine pairings.) The ban was lifted sometime in 2010 though the policy is no flash allowed.
