Liza
http://www.instructables.com/id/Build--A-Nok-Hockey-Table/ I am SO excited about this - the new-fangled Nok Hockey tables come with plastic (shudder) sticks. Talk about a shonda. If and when we move to the house, this is project number one. Well, ok, moving in will be project one. But this will be soon after. Who's with me? Talk about a shonda. how are you supposed to poke out an opponent's eye with a plastic stick? way to ruin a game. you'll wanna build that with wood that splinters well
Suzanne F
We used to play it in junior high school, using pens or popsicle sticks or rulers and whatever flattish disks we had around (coins, erasers, etc.). Of course, this was during class, especially Mrs. Rabinowitz's science class, so no wonder my class (3-year SP, for those who remember) spent as much time in detention as the "dumbest" classes. bloviatrix
I loved nok hockey. We used to hold tournaments during the holidays.
SLBunge
Interesting. I grew up in a hockey-crazed, midwest town (Madison, WI) and played organized hockey into high school but I've never seen this game. Looks like fun.
Suzanne F
Oh, it's great for leaving permanent dents in other people's foreheads.

Talk about a shonda. The Nok Hockey table I had as a kid came with plastic sticks (late '70s edition), but did have wooden pucks. I absolutely loved it.
