Squeat Mungry
Yes, hunker down, Peter! My thoughts are with you. That dinner looks delicious!
robert40
Peter, It appears this one is very serious! I heard a report today from the National Weather Service stating those who stay in this storms path will certainly face death. Very chilling and strong words. Do take care and be safe. Further research shows that the NHC issued warnings of 'facing certain death' for owners of coastal properties of 2 storeys or fewer.

SFJoe
Good luck, Peter. My wine fridge only budged a couple of degrees during the last NYC blackout, btw.

Further research shows that the NHC issued warnings of 'facing certain death' for owners of coastal properties of 2 storeys or fewer. That warning was issued specifically to residents of Galveston Island. It wasn't a general warning. Check a map to see the geography of that region. I'm reading this morning that the storm surge was "only" half of what had been predicted & feared. That's the good news. Hope you're OK Peter & anyone else we know down there. peppyre
So glad to hear that you made it through the storm relatively unscathed. I think you deserve a wonderful glass of wine after a night like that.
