There's a new mosaic installation at the Prince st. R station;Small one piece insets of silhouettes of passersby on the street.They look like photo cut images-the silhouettes are very real.It's fun-you tend to look at them and see if there is someone that you know.

Not public in the sense that it's on the roof of a museum, but outdoors and site-specific: Roxy Paine's installation on the roof of the Met. It's beautiful (all that gleaming, sinuous metal), it's fascinating (just how did he engineer this ?, you find yourself thinking), it's really interesting (part of his 'Dendroid' series, there's a juxtaposition of the organic with the synthetic in these works that I respond to viscerally but also find thought-provoking).
