Most definitely. They were good about that when I had an issue with my last iPhone. It just really pisses me off to have to waste what will be a good portion of the day dealing with a piece of technology that is less than a month old and cost north of $1000. Shame they don't have to reimburse me for time and aggravation. I would end up coming out way ahead :o :P .

when my brand new macbookpro was nothing more than a box of problems i got a brand new replacement some free accessories and some apple swag. i would rather have not needed to waste days on getting the replacement and a couple of hours in the apple store making the exchange

What were your problems? I'm on week 2 of mine and am okay except that I am having a lot of keyboard cockpit problems. I think I am typing one thing and lots of other stuff appear on the screen.

I love Face ID more than I can say.

I find the new gestures surprisingly unannoying. They somehow seem more intuitive to me than the old ones. It's surprising how quickly you get used to sweeping up instead of using the home button.

I've heard mixed things although the ratio is about 70/30 positive. Glad you're in the 70% group.

Voyager--details here

So, another 2 1/2 hours. Old iPP replaced after diagnostics couldn't determine what caused the other one to have its psychotic break. Currently waiting to see how the restore on this one goes. The 'genius' mentioned part of the problem 'could' include a problem with my icloud restore. The only way to know will be to see if the unending restore occurs again. If that is the case, I will not be a happy camper.

I think they have light/dark sensors and are programmed to go off when it's pitch-black inside just to be evil. Don't bother with the 10-year lithium battery ones - one of mine crapped out after one year. I couldn't switch it off so ended up smashing it to bits and flinging it outside with gusto.

It's worse if you're house/cat-sitting and there are four linked alarms going off, you can't figure out which one is the main one, one is up a flight of stairs just outside the cats' sleeping area, they're freaking out, and you have to go outside into a strange garage to find the ladder, all the while that damn screech is going off right in your ear as you're pulling it off the ceiling. Please god, never again.

We just spent a week in hell. We have about 5 smoke detectors that are all hard wired. Last Tuesday, the smoke detectors, and carbon monoxide detector, just all went off at once, making an ear piercing sound. There was no smoke or fire in the house. We called PSE&G to investigate. They tested our oven, gas fireplace, & heater, and said that our bottom oven was giving off a high carbon monoxide reading of 700 (10 is normal). Mrs. P had some sort of 'oven proof' mat (as seen on TV :)) on the bottom to keep the oven clean. The PSE&G guy said to throw it out since that was causing the problem. However, even after we took it out we still got a reading of 250. We set up another appointment with PSE&G to check out the oven on Friday (since that was the earliest available appointment). In the meantime I had to shut off the breaker switch for the smoke detectors because they would randomly go off and make thoise ear piercing sounds. The PSE&G guy that came Friday was a waste of space. He didn't even want to look at the oven and told us to call LG (the manufacturer). My wife keeps the oven spotless so it wasn't because any burners were clogged. Anyway we called a licensed LG service man. He came on Sunday and took the oven apart and couldn't find anything. He just said to keep the exhaust fan on when using the oven to ventilate the gas from the oven. He then went upstairs in our bedroom where the smoke detector was going nuts and noticed high carbon monoxide readings. He said there might be a gas leak in the walls and that we should call an HVAC guy. We called an HVAC guy & he said that PSE&G would have to come again and mark the walls where the leak was coming from before he could even look at it. We were going nuts because we have a fancy faux finish on our bedroom walls, that an artist painted, and were freaking out that they would have to rip our walls apart, and ruin the finish. Another PSE&G guy came on Monday and checked the bedroom and found absolutely nothing. The smoke detectors were quiet as a mouse while he was there. SInce Monday there have been no smoke detectors going off. So we wasted a week and nobody seems to know what caused the issue. I think the house is just haunted :ph43r:

Before we had the kitchen redone, breathing in the kitchen would set off the smoke alarm in the hallway leading to the kitchen. Hard wired. So we ripped it out of the wall, threw it in the freezer until the backup battery died, then tossed it. (We put a picture over the hold in the hallway wall.) Maybe that's why my freezer went kablooey twice this past summer.

I'm blown away that you could stay overnight in a space with those CO readings. I'd have taken my toothbrush to the nearest hotel. So you seem to be in grove with your poltergeists.

If I could survive 2 gassy French Bulldogs, a little CO is nothing :) The high CO readings were coming from the bottom oven. We stopped using the bottom oven until we had the LG service repairman thoroughly check it out and give us the ok. We just have to immediately turn the exhaust fan on before turning on the lower oven. The CO reading was negligible once you put on the exhaust fans.

Amtrak is no longer printing schedules. At all. Nada. Zip. Not even the folks in the information kiosks have anything in print. If you want to find a train, you've got to do it online. That's fine for when I'm home, but . . . yes, yes, you're all going to get on my case about getting a smartphone. Feh.
