We have some similar horror stories. I had some donuts I was told to pick up from a FedEx office, which was actually closed for COVID. FedEx delivered them a week later, green around the edges.

One of my wife’s food orders could be tracked on an amazing route around the country; I don’t know that it ever arrived.

The bagels, bialys, and rugelach I ordered from a bakery in Houston have been on the road for the last 5 days, and I have no idea when they're actually going to get to my house.  They've taken the very long route, and at one point they were following the old Route 66 (oh look, Amarillo to Gallup to Needles).  I didn't realize that FedEx Ground is actually the Pony Express.  Let's see what condition they arrive in.

It gets better.  When I placed the order, I asked them to substitute plain bagels for any everything or poppyseed bagels.  So what did I find when I opened the box that came today?  ONLY everything & poppyseed bagels, so now I have a dozen of some of my least-favorite varieties.  I've sent off a complaint e-mail with photo evidence of the order slip with the special instructions and the package contents.

Colonoscopy.  I have one coming up next week.  What a pain.  Isn't there some way we can do this by some sort of scan or a couple?  There's something that seems crude about the whole thing, like bleeding or leeches or something.  It's not dark ages but there's a weird feel to the whole process.

One of the most successful early intervention/prevention techniques we have. And if they do a scan, and see a polyp which has to be removed, they gotta go up and in anyway. It's basically the gold standard.

And it's a nice, pleasant nap. Back in the days before my doc brought in an anesthesiologist to do the propofol/versed part, he used to do it with a nice dose of demerol - now that was fun...until he shot you up with the blocker.

I've had 4 hip dislocations and, um, 3 or 4 colonoscopies.   Have no idea what they used to put me under but they were all of very short duration and totally fine from my point of view.   What goes on under sedation stays under sedation.

Most likely the Michael Jackson drug - properly administered.

That was my dentist here in Las Vegas who gave Michael's kids propofol (at his demand) for things like filling a cavity. The dental board gave him a choice. Leave town, or lose your license. He left. He was the best dentist I've ever had. Almost painless without using anything other than novacaine. And that comes from a raging dentalphobe.
