I can only speak for the institutions I work at, but I haven't seen a chalkboard in years. There are whiteboards with dry erase markers, but I don't use them. Most classrooms have projectors hooked up to the instructor's computer, so I can show Powerpoints and like that.

voyager
Word. I had one kid that was so right and wrong in all the right right and wrong ways that I told husband that rather than having kids, I was just going to "appropriate" this one. Of course, didn't follow through but he did spend an inordinate amount of time in the courtyard slapping blackboard erasers.
greenspace
Everything is "smartboards" now. No erasers needed.
Wilfrid
I still have a white board. Quite a large one. It's designed as a monthly calendar with some blank space too. If I write something on the white board and enter it into Google Cal, there's a chance I'll remember it.
prasantrin
Another one bites the dust. After almost three years of being hyper-vigilant, I finally got covid. I'm blaming my 5 days in Vancouver last week because I want to keep memories of my trip to Japan pure.
Evelyn
Hopefully it is a mild case.
Sneakeater
I had a really bad cold a couple of weeks ago. I kept testing and testing cuz I thought it MUST be Covid. But it just wasn't. What was weird is that it was so much worse than my Covid case was. We need to get a cold vaccine.
Wilfrid
My one definite and one possible COVID cases were both milder than heavy colds. Let alone flu.
prasantrin
It's not so bad. Feels like the flu. It's just that I haven't had the flu since 2018 or 2019, so I'm not used to the congestion, aches, fever, and coughing. And I can only taste sweet, sour, bitter, and salty. I ate 5 TJ's triple ginger snaps in a row to test my taste buds. I had been vigilant about mask wearing because my parent is very high risk, but last week I was a little lax. I'd like to think having had 2 vaccinations and 3 boosters, including the bivalent, lessened the severity, but who knows?
Sneakeater
It MUST have. I know people who, early on in the Pandemic, were hospitalized with Covid. One nearly died. It HAS to be the vaccines that are making our cases so mild.
Wilfrid
It certainly seems perverse not to accept that as a highly plausible hypothesis.
