voyager
What they said from the beginning: Vaccines may not prevent you from GETTING covid, but they will keep you out of the hospital.
AaronS
almost certainly true of me.
prasantrin
I hope it holds true for the elderly, as parent's throat is starting to feel scratchy. IIRC, of the vaccinated, many of those who died from covid were elderly. Hopefully if parent is sick, a Paxlovid prescription will be provided (gp was not keen on two of the three boosters, but we got them anyway).

My elderly parents' COVID symptoms haven't been much different from a regular cold. They didn't even get a fever.
Wilfrid
I do have a thermometer and have never detected any fever associated with COVID (when I had it and when I might have had it).

Much different, of course, than others, and probably dependent on variant; when I had Covid last June, I ran almost 102℉ fever for 2 -3 days.
Sneakeater
I had a fever for a day or so.

Sufficiently so that when a couple of friends got very sick my first thought was that they might be closeted anti-vaxxers.

Tubbs
My wife only had a fever. Weirdly she didn't test positive until after she had symptoms. She only tested because I got it afterwards. Kids both had it and were asymptomatic. Ironically I was the only one who had a booster in the last year and had the worst (though still mild) symptoms.
Sneakeater
I thought that entire string of recipes was just kind of silly. Certainly not the article promised.
small h
I just wondered whether there had been a sale on butternut squash.
