Hah! I just got the style guide for something I'm editing, and this is Rule #10: We do not use the Oxford comma. If a sentence cannot be understood without the Oxford comma, then rewrite the sentence to make it better.

Oh I have some stories about Farrell’s. I wish Lex was here so I could continue ribbing him about never going there. And the much missed Nick Gatti who knew the bars on that strip like the back of his hand. For better or worse.

I grew up near Great Adventure amusement park in NJ.  I had no idea until just now that it was conceived and designed by Warner LeRoy, who created The Russian Tea Room and Tavern on the Green.
