yes - you don't decant Rioja, you do decant Nebbiolo.

 

Actually funny story - I wanted to buy a really old bottle of Nebbiolo over the holidays to go with a piece of veal I was cooking. I don't have much experience with really old wine and its a pretty affordable way to get there - and when I told the people I buy wine from my timing on the meal they really didn't think it wise to buy anything older than early 80's given I only had time for a five six hour decant.
