helena
I'm thinking of making a dining tablecloth of patched leather or maybe even some nice quality leatherette. Several questions: Does anybody know a good source of leather remainders? Also i don't have a sewing machine but was thinking to get one for quite a while: mostly for purpose of making some upholstery - tired of paying for god awful looking covers. SO recommendations for cheapo sewing machine that can do the job is welcomed. thanks!
splinky
you need a heavy duty machine for leatherwork. at least one with a very solid build and strong motor and the correct needle and thread. there are fabric stores in the east 30's that sell remnants but the fur district may be a better source for scraps.
