hollywood
After an EKG, my internist said that I had A-fib. He sent me to a cardiologist who confirmed. 5 days later I was in the OR wherein I was anesthetized, had a transesophageal echocardiogram (looking for clots that weren't found) and underwent a cardioversion (ZAAAP!). Bingo the heart was reset! No more A-fib for now!
small h
Good! I hope you stay fixed!
maison rustique
Yay! Glad it was so easy. Not that it is easy to go through that, but glad it was fixed. My sis had the cardioversion first, but it wasn't working out the way they wanted, thus her ablation yesterday.
bloviatrix
So glad you found the Afib before anything happened. We only learned that my husband had it until after he suffered a stroke.
hollywood
I guess I got lucky. Thanks.
backyardchef
I'm glad you are feeling better. Sounds like you were a good and brave patient.
hollywood
Easy to be brave when you are knocked out. 😄
Wilfrid
I was surprised at how brave I was before being knocked out for my hip replacement. But how much Valium did they put in the drip?
hollywood
Don't know about Valium. The propofol calmed me down.

Evelyn
Heh. My former dentist in Las Vegas was the one who gave propofol to Michael Jackson’s children for teeth cleanings. Which Michael demanded. As one who is a dental phobe, I wish he’d offered it to me 😅
small h
Propofol is a miracle drug.
Wilfrid
I am guessing what was in the drip, I just remember being all warm, fuzzy and happy when I voluntarily climbed on to a table to have a major body joint ripped out. I would like some more of it.
hollywood
I think mine was probably just a glucose solution to keep me hydrated.
