Sneakeater
I just weighed in on Manzo at the Pig. In a nutshell, yeah not bad. Better than Felidia. The food at Maialino is quite different, but I much prefer Maialino to Manzo if we're just comparing fairly new, moderately upscale Italians. How did you of all people avoid ordering the Garganelli alla Finanziera?
Wilfrid
Pasta is for tourists, for one thing. Additionally, ground organ meats isn't something I think of as being terribly rare, although I see from your earlier post that you had trouble running this dish down in Piedmont. It sounds like haggis bolognese.

juuceman
great roast chicken from here for lunch today; well seasoned; fresh off the rotiserie at one p.m.; no line to order and pay; in and out in four minutes, mostly due to having to dodge through the crowd near the espresso, panini, and bakery counters. That is good to know, thanks. Broadens my horizons for those 'not in the mood to cook' evenings since it's on the way home.
splinky
use the side door on the 23rd street side by the registers to enter, it saves a ton of time
Daniel
...a tube of Giandula Chocolate... Was it Leone's Gianduioso? Scott Hey Scott, I am not sure of the brand, will check tonight.. In terms of Eataly, I had the angolotti from them.. It was bland and tasteless.. Not impressed by that.. Especially considering the price. I took it home and made an awesome butter sage sauce... splinky
Picked up a roast chicken today. Was $7.50 for a small bird and it's very nice. Moist and chickeny.
Lippy
I was there today too and came home with osso buco. It was "truffle day" today. The last white truffles of the season were being shaved over this and that in the restaurants and sold retail at $6.50 per gram. I almost caved in, but contented myself with sniffing. I also saw what looked like quarts of rendered duck fat for about $17.
yvonne johnson
I dropped by Manzo today for some lunch. Anyone who knows me knows I love liver. Well, this calf's liver was inedible. My knife could not cut through either piece. Pure ducts. They were very nice about it and did I want anything else or a replacement etc. and removed it from the tab (never in a month of Sundays would I have paid for it), but I just wanted to get out. The glass of Barbera was very good. A pity, as I liked what I had at Manzo before and at the fish counter.
