Ron Johnson
The original completion date was today. Is there any such thing as a contractor that finishes a job on time and on budget? They are laying the bluestone tiles this week. Lots of cuts, so very slow. IN three days he only has one small corner laid.
prasantrin
Please let me know when you move, so I can buy your house. I don't really want the house, I just want that beautiful oven. I have to win the lottery first (or at least get a job), but I just wanted to give you a few years' notice.
SLBunge
That oven is beautiful. What will the facing be on the fireplace/oven?

Ron Johnson
So beautiful, Ron. Can't wait to see your pizzas. I am anxious to make some, but even when it is all finished I will still have to wait another 6-7 days while I cure the oven.

tsquare
The original completion date was today. Is there any such thing as a contractor that finishes a job on time and on budget? They are laying the bluestone tiles this week. Lots of cuts, so very slow. IN three days he only has one small corner laid. Rarely, but a project I was involved in was constructed with 2 or 3 months left in the schedule, and in spite of efforts to use up the contingency funds on upgrades and energy efficiencies, they came in under budget. This was 41 units of affordable housing for a local non-profit developer. Sometimes, the site conditions, availability of the right labor, the weather, and people wanting to own the project all align and projects go very well. I know your question was rhetorical, but I love that this project went so well.
Ron Johnson
Some progress was made while we were in France, but they are still not finished and the completion date was June 19. The completed wood burning oven structure. With the pergola: The rest of the kitchen: The fireplace side: The rest of the living area: The old siding replaced with stone that matches the rest: The bluestone tiles that replaced the old wood deck. Difficult to see in this light and they are dusty, but they are gorgeous. They still have to install the water feature and the bar, and run electric and gas lines. Hopefully, finished early next week.
