I don’t when I last went to a Mighty Quinn’s, but eating lunch now at the Village branch and the brisket is excellent. Tender, not dry, lovely streak of fat.

While it looks slightly light on the smoke, that looks much better than many recent pics of their food that I've seen recently. That makes me happy.

Yes, light on the smoke is right and would be my only demerit. But the texture was so velvety I forgave them.

Incidentally I was only there because there was a curious event at the ancient Casa magazine store I needed to cover as a “reporter”, and I also needed lunch.

I realized last week that my hospital, where I now am ALL THE FUCKING TIME, is three stops from Hudson Smokehouse.

I have been meaning to go back to Rao’s, not for dinner but for cocktails. It has been years.
