MitchW Posted June 22, 2024 Posted June 22, 2024 I'm just going to start this thread with this little ditty from one of the best pizza makers around, Gio - at Luigi's Pizza, in Park Slope. https://www.instagram.com/p/C8AuFBCyiNo/ That's a quick couple of slices I had a while ago. They know what they're doing... No smoke signals! Quote
Sneakeater Posted June 22, 2024 Posted June 22, 2024 Isn't that more Greenwood Heights or something? Quote
Sneakeater Posted June 22, 2024 Posted June 22, 2024 I love their slices myself, but @AaronS has problems. Quote

GerryOlds2TheReturnofGerry Posted June 22, 2024 Posted June 22, 2024 I always thought of it as "South Slope." Definitely a fan of the pizza, and the place is oozing character. Quote
AaronS Posted June 22, 2024 Posted June 22, 2024 (edited) I think at its best it’s very good and I’m always happy to eat there but there’s better stuff here. there’s a lot of variable and the best stuff he does (supreme, white pie) requires being there at specific times. also sneak is right, that’s greenwood heights not south slope. backyardchef Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 (edited) Luigi's is pretty good. I am realizing that it used to be easy to find a great slice almost everywhere in the city. Then you could find a good slice almost anywhere in the city and now you can find mediocre generic slices almost everywhere in the city and good has become the new excellent. Actual above average or even excellent is very rare. Edited June 26, 2024 by backyardchef Quote

cinghiale Posted March 22 Posted March 22 At an osteria in Rome on Thursday, Festa di San Giuseppe there, I had zeppole for dessert, traditional for that day, which I learned is also celebrated as Father’s Day. 1 Quote

At Luigi's on Thursday, Gio was serving some zeppole to a couple of his friends. Highly recommended for pastries by both Gio and a few Italian friends: Villabate Alba 2 Quote
