Not wanting to further digress on the Brian Wilson thread, I just saw that the B52s, Devo and Lene Lovich will be touring together.

I last saw the B52s in New York, so not more than 30 years ago. I want to say it was a double bill with The Pretenders.

I met Devo at a birthday party for Richard Branson; that has got to be more than 40 years ago.

Lene I have not met or seen live.

Good luck to them all I guess (and to me).

Yep, Wikipedia refers to their farewell 2022 tour and then half a scroll down mentions this new tour.

Performed their final concert in Athens, Georgia in 2023. It says

The Mekons (who we saw a couple of weeks ago at the packed Bowery Ballroom) did a tiny desk concert for NPR. How they fit them all in there is beyond me.

"The world is doomed, but at least we've got the Mekons. For nearly 50 years, the British punk band has always done things its own way — out of stubbornness, survival or maybe a little bit of both. That snaggled-toothed sneer and smile, with some bittersweet sentimentality swirled in, can soundtrack any moment, but especially when everything feels fraught."

We hadn't been to a show in Asbury Park in quite some time, but drove down yesterday for a show last night.

It was at the Transparent Clinch Gallery, photographer Danny Clinch's gallery, performance space, and as he put it, Asbury Park's living room.  For a show, the place holds somewhere around 65-75 people.

Alejandro Escovedo - and that's James Mastro (of The Bongos) on lead guitar.

BTW, they found the boy in the crowd and put him up on the Jumbotron. It was a very cool moment.

I'm sure he wears ear protection...headset or earplugs?

Depressingly, I last saw The Who fifty years ago.

I was texting with my brother who was reminiscing about seeing them at both Forest Hills and the Fillmore. My first Who show was '89 at Giants Stadium. My parents didn't let me go to Shea in '82.

My only show was December 1975 at the now-razed Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan. Toots and the Maytals opened. I remember the stadium digital banner claiming it was the world’s largest indoor rock concert (at that point) - like 75,000 or something

I saw them at Empire Pool, Wembley in October that year. Must have been one of the first concerts I attended. (I know I saw Dr Feelgood in December.)

And actually The Who had their first hit single eleven years before that.

Saw them Spring 1970, a mere 55 years ago.  The weird part is that I thought I was late to the party, as they were already releasing Tommy. I had been a fan of “the who sell out” & hadnt yet seen them.

Wet Leg last night at Summerstage, in Central Park.  All I can say is I’m glad I saw them their first time through, with 199 people in attendance, at Baby’s All Right.

We bailed and sold our tickets. I had a feeling the weather / crowds would interfere with my enjoyment.

I have never seen Summerstage so packed.  Weather was ok, however.

We were just there for Rilo Kiley, which I enjoyed very much. I've only seen Jenny Lewis solo before. Plus, the one advantage to me being a gimp is that I get to sit in the ADA section, which is a pretty damn comfortable place to sit, and with a very fine view.

I see there's a one day CBGB festival coming up this weekend. Featuring noone I would associate with the club. Even Marky Ramone surely replaced Tommy after The Ramones outgrew the club. Nice line-up but just seems a little weird. Mind you, who is still out there? The Dictators maybe?
