NoMad opened to the public on Monday, March 26th. My blog post is about our "Friends & Family" dinner.

Can I cook my food too?

I dined at the bar at the NoMad last fall (I think it was a Saturday night) and the place was like a mosh pit. Nice food though.

In case there's any interest, my new blog post is about the excellent fondue dinner at The NoMad Bar. I'm posting this here instead of starting its own thread because unlike Mamma Guidara's which ran for several seasons, this also Sundays only meal is very short term -- began January 28th and ends this coming Sunday, March 18th. Resy is showing a few late reservations.

I'm posting this here as well, Nomad Bar's Nomaderfest, which we went to earlier this week, concludes on the 7th...

From September 22nd through October 7th, the NoMad Bar will be embracing the centuries-old tradition of Oktoberfest and offering our own take on a classic German beer hall menu. Expect dishes such as Chicken Schnitzel with Jaeger Sauce, a braised Pork Shank for two with German-Potato Salad...

This was essentially the menu, which can be ordered a la carte, though it doesn't list the dessert:

We went with the prix fixe; the first course for the table was...pretzels, a beet salad, and weisswurst over kraut. Lest anyone think you're getting a weisswurst or a pretzel or two to share, nope, 4 of everything. Great pretzels and the weisswurst was delicious too. Sauerkraut, milder than Katja's (whose I like more, and which has bacon in it), but those pretzels - wow!

Followed by one of each main. Trout was okay if unspectacular, schnitzel was tender and good, that pork shank was my fave. Sides of cabbage and spaetzle accompanied all. I'm using the shank bone and remaining meat for a pot of beans - dinner tonight.

Dessert was fabulous fried apple slices and ice cream.  Meal all in - $58 a head. Obviously not including the amount we drank.

I could do this again, but maybe somewhere else - this has to be one of the loudest restaurant/bars in the city - we were sitting downstairs, upstairs (if I remember) is quieter. The cocktails are great.

It’s back! I just received an email that they are again doing the Sunday fondue. It started on November 11th and runs through December 30th. $55pp. Reservations via Resy.

It's going to be a private club now, I believe, from the company that owns Soho House. [I've no idea if there will be any arrangements for Soho members.]

Edited: oh god, these 'renderings' look awful. The NoMad had a sort of louche brothel aspect to its aesthetic, but somehow this looks far more vulgar.
