Wilfrid
I have no idea whether holding the Euro soccer final and the men’s Wimbledon final and the Copa America final all on the same day was coincidence, a mistake or some canny marketing play. At least we get them all over and done. Watched the second half of England Spain; the better team won, although the second Spain goal was inches from offside. We missed a penalties party. Wilfrid
And people dangerously storming the stadium for the Copa, start delayed and many genuine ticket-holders locked out. What a weekend.
bloviatrix
You forgot to add in that there was also the Tour de France and baseball. Spouse had multiple sports streaming all day. I need a break from all the noise. And I LIKE most of these sports.
Wilfrid
Crazy. And we now have police moving in. I have a bad feeling about this.

At the same time, don't ever try to have an argument with someone who doesn't think these are truly amazing athletes. Or that teamwork isn't involved. On the occasions I've tried to explain cycling to someone it's interesting to watch their reactions. They just don't get it. Cav's stage win was one for the ages. Wilfrid
I used to watch it when I was in the U.K. but that’s a long time ago. I have an excellent book about it; the tactics and teamwork are indeed amazing.

I was hoping the great Cav might get one more, but at this point, seems unlikely. And though he may not end up with the green jersey, watching Girmay has been fun! And how crazy is it that Jonas is riding so well?! That's a pretty amazing recovery in like 3 months.
StephanieL
One of my exes plays fantasy cycling (akin to fantasy football/baseball), so she's truly invested in the Tour de France.
bloviatrix
It's been a while, but I've played fantasy cycling for all three grand tours as well as some of the other races. I even won our league one year! But more often I'm the Lanterne Rouge.
