it was a lot closer to the wealthy areas of brownstone brooklyn too.

I don't expect L'Antagoniste to receive a proper starred NYT review [Le Philosophe never did, right?], but I found this amusing all the same.

I just got an email from Le Philosophe saying they're closing on Bond St. after service tomorrow (Sat. 1/9) to reopen later with an unspecified new concept.

One thing is certain - the bar will be lined with memory foam as Sneak protection.

Blast. I should have had dinner in town on Friday.

 

It wasn't exactly chef-driven cuisine, but did the food at Le Philosophe drop in quality after Matthew Aita's departure?

Would be so much more impressed if he’d filled in a call slip for the book, like real people do. That’s my idea of cinema.
