Half bottle of Sauvignon Blanc (preferably from the Loire) to go with the first few courses.

Half bottle of Chardonnay (preferably from Burgundy) to go with the last few.

(I hope you weren't expecting anything exotic.)

Not at all. The less exotic the better. I was hoping someone would say Franzia...but then question would be "Crisp White" or "Refreshing White??

p.s. thanks for the suggestions. Very helpful. I don't know whether I'll be able to find a good store that sells half bottles before the 7 pm dinner, though.

Discussion of Louro shouldn't be hidden in the "Um Segredo" thread.

You forgot I'm married to Ranitidine? I know he hasn't posted here in years, but I thought he was more memorable than that.

Whatever happened to ditching the menu and asking the chef to cook for you?

It may be easier than you think.

Where are you?

Live in Westchester (Larchmont), taking Metro-North in, might have 10-15 minutes before if there's anywhere near the restaurant.

I have a 2007 Joly Coulee de Serrant Savennieres that I have been saving for a special occasion. With a toddler and a recent move to Westchester, we have fewer of those these days.

Maybe I'll break this out for tonight.

Or go to USW per your fantastic suggestion.
